2010 State Men's Singles

The Singles and Doubles this year was postponed for the AFL Grand final and wasn't played till late November and although there not being a large numbers of players, the Singles and Doubles was a quality not quantity scenario with some of the top players in the state looking for the Title this year.

The A Grade was a fight to the finish from two of the states in form players in a best of 11 legs going right to the wire of the 11th leg, while the A Reserve this year saw two new players to TDC ranks but not the name with their father being one of the states top players for many years, the Cadby's took2010 all before them wining the Doubles and Corey (pcitured above left) taking the Singles from Ashley (pictured above right)in the final giving them all the spoils on the weekend for the A Reserve.

The A Grade Mens:

Quater Finals:

David Dunn def W.Atkins 4-0, Dean Turnbull def Peter Phillips 4-0

Danny Porter def Roger Gleeson 4-0, Pat Coulson def Danny Jones 4-3

Semi Finals:

Danny Porter avg (26.36) def Pat Coulson avg (14.67) 5-0

Dean Turnbull avg (27.33) def David Dunn avg (25.25) 5-3

This set up the final between the two inform players of Danny Porter with a strong performance and consistency to meet Dean Turbull throwing 180 in every leg in Semi's to take out David Dunn another who performance was strong and consistent through the championships.

The Final:

Dean taking the first leg in 21 darts with Danny on 20 remaining, not allowed a shot at the double, took the next two legs in 15 and 15 making his intention clear.

Dean took the next in 21, then both had double trouble, with the pressure on, Dean taking the leg in 33 darts, following it up with a 15 darter of his own, giving him the lead 4-2.

Dean took the next in 20 darts, needing just one more leg to take the title, but Danny raised the bar taking the next in 23, followed with a 20, then a 17 darter and needing one more to equal Dean took the next with 180 in the leg and 17 darter.

The match now at 5-5 Danny winning the bull open the last and final leg with 45, Dean following it with 100, Danny then 83, Dean a strong 140 Danny back with a 97, Dean 77, Danny again 97, Dean back up with 100, Danny still missing the 60's with 79, Dean setting up the finish with 62, Danny hitting 80 to leave 80, Dean on Double 11 taking the match with third dart giving him the leg and the championship in 18 Darts.
